Shelter Stone provides professional medical, rescue, and other services required to stage a safe and smooth experience for you and your participants at complex mass-participation adventurous events, often in austere environments.

We specialise in trail and mountain running events and can also provide services for other sporting events with similarly demanding requirements.

  • Expert consultancy directly to Event Directors and Race Director from the team that literally wrote the book on what good practice is.

  • The nerve centre of your event, using the latest technology to track participants and event team, coordinate logistics and manage response to incidents.

  • Someone who can advise on the medical needs for your event, including numbers, qualifications, medical equipment and drug usage.

  • Healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, and physiotherapists who can provide finish line medical cover, and also staff major aid points. May include a mixture professionals in training, junior doctors etc. under appropriate supervision.

  • Depending on the nature of your event, we can use a combination of experienced first-aiders and/or healthcare professionals to provide initial first-aid cover at your event locations, such as support points and aid stations.

  • Experienced Mountain Rescue Team members dedicated to your event, capable of all-terrain and all-weather rescues. Our Response Teams also consist of Healthcare Professionals and can provide an additional emergency medical response across the entire event. They provide interoperability with local mountain rescue and emergency services.

  • Professional outdoor instructors assisting with course safety on technical sections of your course or manning remote checkpoints.
