2026 Events

The following are the major events we expect to be supporting with medical and response cover in 2026

Arc of Attrition

  • Organiser: UTMB UK

  • Briefing: Depending on shifts various times on Friday 23rd January at Porthtowan

  • Race dates: Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th January

  • Departure: Depending on shifts various times on Sunday 25th January, or a few may stay overnight and depart first thing Monday 26th January

  • Nature of event: 100M, 100K, 50K, 25K continuous races around SW coast path in Cornwall.

  • Medical cover: At aid stations and finish line. Healthcare professionals and first aiders (but no physios required).

  • Response team: Yes

Northern Traverse

  • Organiser: Ourea Events

  • Briefing: Friday 27th March afternoon at St. Bees

  • Race dates: Saturday 28th March – Wednesday 1st April

  • Departure: Depending on which locations covered variously from Monday 30th to Thursday 2nd April

  • Nature of event: Continuous 300km race along Wainwright’s Coast to Coast path in Northern England from St. Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay.

  • Medical cover: At aid stations and finish line. Mainly healthcare professionals (including physios).

  • Response team: Yes

Ultra-Trail Snowdonia

  • Organiser: UTMB UK

  • Briefing: Depending on shifts either Thursday 14th evening or various times Friday 15th January at Llanberis

  • Race dates: Friday 15th - Sunday 17th May

  • Departure: Depending on shifts various times on Sunday 17th May

  • Nature of event: 100M, 50M, 25M, 12M continuous races around Snowdonia.

  • Medical cover: At aid stations and finish line. Healthcare professionals and first aiders (but no physios required).

  • Response team: Yes

Cape Wrath Ultra

  • Organiser: Ourea Events

  • Briefing: Saturday 16th May afternoon at Fort William

  • Race dates: Sunday 17th - Sunday 24th May

  • Departure: Monday 25th May from Cape Wrath (transfer back to Inverness or Fort William available)

  • Nature of event: 8-day expedition race from Fort William to Cape Wrath.

  • Medical cover: At overnight camp each day. Mainly healthcare professionals (including physios).

  • Response team: Yes

Dragon’s Back Race

  • Organiser: Ourea Events

  • Briefing: Sunday 6th September at Conwy

  • Race dates: Monday 7th - Saturday 12th September

  • Departure: Sunday 13th September from Cardiff (transfer back to Conwy available)

  • Nature of event: 6-day expedition race from Conwy to Cardiff in Wales.

  • Medical cover: At overnight camp each day. Mainly healthcare professionals (including physios).

  • Response team: Yes

Skyline Scotland

  • Organiser: Ourea Events

  • Briefing: Friday 18th September morning

  • Race dates: Friday 18th - Sunday 20th September

  • Departure: Sunday 20th September after final races

  • Nature of event: Weekend with various different races from 5km to 100 miles near Fort William.

  • Medical cover: At aid stations (on longer races) and finish line. Healthcare professionals and first aiders.

  • Response team: Yes

13 Valleys Ultra

  • Organiser: The Great Run Company (this work is still subject to confirmation of us providing the services again as previous years)

  • Briefing: Various times Friday 25th September at Keswick

  • Race dates: Friday 25th - Sunday 27th September

  • Departure: Various times Sunday 27th September after final shift

  • Nature of event: 13 valleys (180km), 7 valleys (110km), 5 valleys (55km) and 2 valleys (22km) races around the Lake District.

  • Medical cover: At aid stations and finish line. Healthcare professionals and first aiders (but no physios required).

  • Response team: Yes

Availability

If you are available to work at Arc of Attrition, please fill in the Arc of Attrition 2026 availability form. We will aim to confirm the team in late November 2025.

If you are available to work on any of the above events, please fill in the Shelter Stone 2026 availability form.

  • For events in the spring (Northern Traverse, Ultra-Trail Snowdonia, Cape Wrath) we will aim to confirm the teams in December 2025 (*).

  • For events in the autumn (Dragon’s Back, Skyline Scotland, 13 Valleys) we will aim to confirm the teams in February 2026 (*)

(*) We recognise doctors in particular often cannot confirm leave more than 6-8 weeks in advance, so let us know if you are interested in principle subject to leave, and we will confirm with you nearer the time of the event.

Other events

The above are the largest events we expect to be covering. We anticipate other events that will be confirmed and we will seek availability for in due course throughout the year.
