Event Medical Conference 2026
Shelter Stone Event Medical Conference to Take a Break in 2025 – Plans Underway for 2026 Relaunch
Following the success of the 2024 Event Medical Conference, Shelter Stone has confirmed that there will be no edition of the event in 2025 as we take time to reflect, refine, and reimagine its future format.
The 2024 conference brought together around 50 healthcare professionals for a day of learning and collaboration. The morning programme focused on academic presentations and ultra-running research, while the afternoon shifted to hands-on practical skills sessions, covering essential aspects of medical and rescue support at outdoor endurance events. The combination proved both popular and effective, highlighting the diverse needs and interests within our growing community of medical professionals.
On review, it’s clear that the theory and research components of the conference resonate most with senior doctors and those with an academic research interest. In contrast, the practical skills sessions are particularly valuable for medics and first aiders who deliver on-the-ground care during events.
With this in mind, we’ve decided to pause the Event Medical Conference for 2025 and use the time to develop a more focused and impactful experience. Looking ahead to 2026, our intention is to deliver two distinct yet connected strands of the event: one centred around research and medical theory, and the other around practical skills development. While these may take place on separate days, we expect to continue our affiliation with the Kendal Mountain Festival and our sister event, the Adventure Sports Events Conference.
We’re excited about the potential to better serve our medical community through a more tailored programme in 2026. Further details will be announced in due course.
